Privacy
Last updated 8 October 2026.
This page covers the website settleclock.com and the SettleClock app. The SettleClock team runs both and is responsible for the personal data described here, and “we” on this page means that team. Write to hello@settleclock.com with any question or request about it.
The website
- The site sets no cookies and runs no analytics, advertising or tracking. It loads no fonts, scripts or images from other websites.
- The bill calculator runs entirely in your browser. What you type into it is never sent to us or anyone else, and it is gone when you close the page.
- The site is served by Cloudflare. To deliver pages and protect them from attacks, Cloudflare processes technical details of each request, such as your IP address, your browser and the page asked for, under its own privacy policy. It shows us traffic totals, such as the number of requests. We do not use them to identify anyone.
If you write to us
We receive your email address, your name if you give it, and what you write. We use them only to reply, and, if you join the pilot, to run the pilot with you. Mail to hello@settleclock.com is held in a mailbox that Zoho hosts for us in its India data centre. We keep the conversation while it is useful to you and for up to 24 months after it ends, unless you ask us to delete it sooner. If you join the pilot, we keep the pilot agreement you accepted, and the emails that form it, for three years after the pilot ends, the time within which either side can bring a claim under it.
Downloading the app
The app's download page is open only to the email addresses we invite to the pilot. To sign in, Cloudflare Access emails you a one-time code. It records your email address, your IP address and the time of each sign-in, under Cloudflare's own privacy policy, and shows that record to us. We keep the list of invited addresses while the pilot runs and remove an address when that pilot ends.
The app
- The app runs on your own computer. Your ledgers, reports, settings and licence stay in one folder there. We never receive a ledger, a supplier's PAN, a report or a provider key.
- When you check suppliers online, the app sends each supplier's PAN, and then the Udyam number the provider finds for it, to the verification provider whose keys you saved in it, on your own account with that provider. You decide which provider, and your agreement with them governs that data. Providers require you to have each supplier's consent to the check, so the app asks you to confirm you have it before every online check. You can avoid online checks altogether by screening from Udyam data you already hold.
- The update check, on unless you turn it off in the app's settings, sends the app's version number to our update address about once a day. Like any request on the internet, it shows us your IP address.
- To issue a licence we record the customer's name, the PAN, CIN or firm registration number the licence is tied to, the edition and the dates it is valid for. We keep this while the licence is in force, and invoices and accounting records for as long as tax and company law require, at most eight years from the end of the financial year.
- The app sends no analytics, tracking or crash reports.
Your rights
Write to hello@settleclock.com to see the personal data we hold about you, or to have it corrected, completed, updated or erased. We reply within 30 days. India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act 2023 makes these rights binding from May 2027, when you will also be able to nominate someone to act for you if you die or cannot act, and to complain to the Data Protection Board of India.
Children
SettleClock is for businesses and their advisers. It is not meant for anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect data about children.
Security
The site is served only over HTTPS. Apart from the emailed code for the invited download page, it has no sign-in, accounts or passwords. To report a security problem, write to hello@settleclock.com.
Changes
If this page changes, the date at the top changes with it. We will not use data already collected in a new way without asking you first.
